The Welwyn Hatfield Local Plan has undergone a series of Examinations in Public which were completed in March 2021.  The Local Plan covers the towns of Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield and surrounding countryside and seeks to provide 16,000 new houses and 17,000 new jobs by 2033.  We have participated in each stage of the Local Plan process, advocating for the countryside.  In particular we have opposed the removal of land from the Green Belt, including sites at Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Brookmans Park, Cuffley, Little Heath, Woolmer Green, and at rural Symondshyde.  Our representations at the October 2016 Pre Submission stage of Local Plan preparation are available to read here.  Our subsequent statements at the many public hearings can be found on the Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council Local Plan Examination website.
