Our response on Herts County Council’s Draft Waste Local Plan, March 2021

Herts County Council has consulted on their draft Waste Local Plan, including sites identified for future waste management. We consider the draft Plan is not sound and needs a rethink, because it isn’t based on the latest published population or household projections. It also doesn’t take into account the impacts of the pandemic and withdrawal from the EU, and the need for waste generators and recyclers to come to terms with these and the new UK commitments to more sustainable targets for waste reduction and recovery.
