Hertfordshire Eastern Area Growth and Transport Plan (GTP)

We are concerned that the Growth and Transport Plan (GTP) aligns with the objectives of the older, Local Transport Plan 2018.  We believe that it should instead seek more broad ranging objectives relating to climate change and the new policy agenda rather than appearing to believe that we can build our way out of traffic congestion.  We have a number of concerns about the GTP including the disproportionate spend on major road schemes, and insufficient ambition and funding with regard to bus routes, cycleways and footpaths.  We believe the GTP is inconsistent with the County’s declaration of a Climate Emergency.
