East Hertfordshire District Local Plan 2011 – 2033

The current East Herts District Local Plan was adopted by the Council in October 2018 and covers the period from 2011 to 2033. The Plan covers the towns of Bishops Stortford, Buntingford, Hertford, Sawbridgeworth and Ware and the surrounding countryside, and provides for 18,500 new houses and for over 10,000 new jobs. We continue to monitor development proposals and have ongoing concern about the huge new development being proposed for countryside north of Harlow, around Gilston.
