Application no. 23/02972/MFA

Planning application for the change of use from agricultural land to Suitable Accessible Natural Green Space (SANG), with vehicular access, car park, paths, fencing and landscaping

The site for the proposed SANG is in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Green Belt. While we accept that SANG may constitute an appropriate use for land in the Green Belt and in the AONB, we have significant concerns which we would appreciate the Council taking into account in their determination of this application.

We also believe a more coordinated and comprehensive review of SANG provision is required to fulfil the objectives of the Chilterns Beechwoods Special Area of Conservation (SAC) Mitigation Strategy, rather than the piecemeal determination of individual applications initiated by developers. Read more about our concerns by downloading our full comments to the Council at right, and also see our article on this subject published early in 2023.
