Hexton and the Icknield Way

A circular walk of approximately five miles starting and finishing at the Raven pub in Hexton.

Hexton dates from Saxon times, but was redeveloped as a ‘model’ village in the 1920s.

The walk takes in Ravensburgh Castle, the largest Iron Age fort in the East of England, though now obscured by trees, the ancient Icknield Way, and the beautiful Pegsdon Hills.
