Aston and Astonbury Wood

This 4 mile circular walk is a pleasant ramble in the quiet countryside just east of Stevenage. Our route features lovely Astonbury Wood, owned by Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust.

This is an ancient woodland with a rich diversity of wildlife and recognised nationally for its fungi.

The walk starts and finishes in the village of Aston, and if timed for late April or early May should feature carpets of bluebells in Astonbury Wood.
