North Herts Local Plan – proposed modifications April 2019

CPRE Hertfordshire objects to the wording of a new paragraph proposed by North Herts District Council.  That paragraph would commit the Council to support in principle for any development in North Hertfordshire associated with development in the adjacent areas of Luton and Central Bedfordshire.  This would include any proposals for expansion of Luton Airport that abuts North Herts. Such proposals could have a devastating impact on currently tranquil countryside in the Green Belt in North Herts.  This countryside area is a high quality landscape with small settlements of a rural character, situated within or near the existing Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
