Land West of Blegberry Gardens, Shootersway, Berkhamsted
Planning application no. 25/01548/MOA
Outline application for up to 80 dwellings with access from Shootersway, public open space, landscaping, surface water drainage and associated infrastructure (all matters reserved except access)
The proposed site is in the Green Belt, and is not allocated for development in the Dacorum Draft Local Plan which has been submitted for Examination in Public. The applicant asserts the site is ‘grey belt’ but we disagree. Further we note Natural England’s comments regarding the site’s potential inclusion in the Chilterns National Landscape before that project was recently cancelled. Nonetheless it indicates the high landscape value and sensitivity of the site. We fully support the concerns of local residents and the Town Council regarding highways and access issues and other matters, and urge the Council to refuse permission.
