Good news! Article 4 Direction for ‘plotlands’ at Northaw

We’re delighted that Wel-Hat Council has issued an immediate Article 4 Direction on this open land within the protected Green Belt at Vineyards Road in Northaw.

The land has been parcelled into plots and is due to be sold at auction. CPRE Hertfordshire along with our members in the area and the Northaw & Cuffley Parish Council all wrote to the Borough urging swift action. The effect of the Article 4 Direction is to remove permitted development rights. This means that any even minor or temporary building works or fencing etc will need planning permission. This will alert potential buyers who may think that the land has planning permission for residential use, that it does not.
