100 years of protecting the countryside
This year marks a special milestone for CPRE, and we are celebrating 100 years of protecting the countryside.
Get ready for an exciting in-person day out celebrating Hertfordshire’s beautiful countryside. Catch up with fellow supporters, enjoy engaging talks from local authors, and explore the great outdoors together.
Whether you’re passionate about nature or want to learn more about our green spaces, this event’s got something for everyone. Don’t miss the chance to connect and make a difference!
This year we will be hearing from:
Freya North, bestselling local author who will be delivering a talk about her move from an urban lifestyle in London to her life managing a farm in Hertfordshire, and how the countryside has shaped her writing.
Elena Mannion, local publisher and author of nature books, known for her bestselling children’s book, The Happy Hedgerow. She will be discussing the importance of our hedgerow eco systems with our Hedgerows Heroes Project Officer James Lunt, with lots of interactive hedgerow activities for the children!
Hatfield House will also be opening up the grounds for you to explore at your leisure and to enjoy an autumnal walk in one of Hertfordshire’s most spectacular green spaces.
CPRE Hertfordshire staff and volunteers will be in attendance to inform you about our mission and projects. You will learn about all of CPRE’s tireless work over the last 100 years to protect our countryside, and have the opportunity to learn more about and sign up for our many volunteering opportunities.
In addition to this, we will be hosting a number of other charities who will be able to tell you all about the environmental work happening in Hertfordshire right now, and how you can get involved.
Local vendors will be available for all your sustainable shopping needs; whether you need a snack, a gift for a friend or a treat for yourself, we have you covered!
