Our response – North East & Central Herts Vision 2050

CPRE Hertfordshire welcomes the North, East, and Central Hertfordshire (NEC Herts) Vision 2050 as a collaborative strategic framework and applauds the efforts of the five local authorities—Broxbourne Borough Council, East Hertfordshire District Council, North Hertfordshire District Council, Stevenage Borough Council, and Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council—alongside Hertfordshire County Council.

While the Vision document outlines a comprehensive and aspirational framework for sustainable development, we are concerned about the disconnect between its principles and current decisions being made on the ground. Without immediate action to protect the Green Belt and Rural Areas, promote brownfield development and address rural needs, much of the Vision’s potential could be lost.
