Changing weather patterns, as the impacts of climate change become more and more apparent, are putting pressure on the ability of the water resources companies, Affinity Water in Hertfordshire, to produce what we demand.

Chalk streams are suffering from over-abstraction of water from the aquiver and new and replacement sources must be found but not a new reservoir at Abingdon.

The CPRE county branches, including CPRE Hertfordshire, across the East of England are holding a one day conference on Water Resources on Wednesday, 29th April 2020 at the Fleet Community Centre, Fletton, Peterborough.

The guest speaker at the conference will be Fergal Sharkey OBE, former rock star and chalk stream campaigner. Other speakers will be representing Water Resources East, Plantlife UK and Middle Level Commissioners.  The full program will be available in the New Year.
