Sustainable transport

We want everyone to have genuine, sustainable travel choices, keeping cars off the road and pollution out of the atmosphere.

Both Luton Airport and Stansted Airport already have a major impact on the Hertfordshire countryside and we oppose further expansion.

More flights would increase air pollution and contribute to global warming. Noise pollution from flights, which already blights areas of the Hertfordshire countryside, would also increase. Expansion would also require more supporting infrastructure, and road traffic would inevitably increase.

There is an alternative – we support more sustainable transport options to reduce the number of short-haul flights and avoid the need for increased airport capacity.
