A new 'Garden Village' for Simondshyde?

The final consultation on Welwyn Hatfield’s Local Plan includes a proposal for 1,100 houses at Simondshyde north of Coopers Green Lane. The site is being promoted by Gascoyne Cecil Estates.

Well over 9,000 people have already had their say and sent a letter to their MPs to demand the Government halts plans for a series of changes to the way planning works in England.

CPRE Hertfordshire is alarmed by East Herts Council’s bid for Government support for a ‘Garden Town’ with 10,000 houses in the Green Belt between Ware and Sawbridgeworth.

New President for CPRE

Pottery designer and businesswoman Emma Bridgewater is to be the new President of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), succeeding former Poet Laureate Sir Andrew Motion, who served four years in the role.
