The final consultation on Welwyn Hatfield’s Local Plan includes a proposal for 1,100 houses at Simondshyde north of Coopers Green Lane. The site is being promoted by Gascoyne Cecil Estates.

CPRE Herts.’ press release ‘Multiple threats to Green Belt sites in St Albans’ alerted people to this, and other proposals, back in January 2016.

Should the proposal go ahead, it will cover the swathe of beautiful and tranquil Hertfordshire countryside which formed the route of CPRE Herts.’ 2009 Autumn Walk.

If you care about our countryside, please respond to the consultation. It runs 30 August – 24 October.
