80% of Hertfordshire is countryside, much of it in the Green Belt, protecting us from coalescence with London and built areas from coalescence with each other. CPRE Hertfordshire has been standing up for the Hertfordshire countryside for over 80 years.

Great result for the Green Belt and for Bishop' Stortford 23 Oct 12: The Planning Appeal against the refusal by East Herts District Council of the proposed relocation of two Bishop's Stortford Secondary Schools to a single Green Belt site south of the town has been rejected by Secretary of State Eric Pickles, bringing to an end 8 years of blight affecting not only the GB site but 4 other sites which would have been developed for housing to pay for the move, resulting in 700 new houses.
