Is your organisation looking for interesting, informative talks by inspiring speakers?

CPRE Hertfordshire can offer talks on two different, but inextricably linked, aspects of our lovely, varied and surprising Hertfordshire countryside.

  1. Elizabeth Hamilton, a past Chairman of CPRE Hertfordshire, walked all 194 miles of the Hertfordshire Way to get to know her county better, raise awareness of a precious resource we are in danger of losing, and raise funds for our work of celebrating and protecting it. She gives a fascinating talk on the Way itself; and her experiences along the Way. Elizabeth has also walked the 50 mile long Lea Valley walk which explores the Lea Valley and in places runs through land with no public access. Elizabeth's fully illustrated talk, Following the Swan, unveils the River Lea's history, landscape and wildlife. She also suggests shorter walks for those wishing to discover the river for themselves.
  2. Kevin FitzGerald, our Hon. Director, is Hertfordshire-born and bred. Kevin is passionate about his native county's countryside, which he views as some of the best in the country. He talks about the threats it faces, explains how CPRE Hertfordshire goes about its work of protecting it; and how we can all be a part of this work.
  3. Michael Nidd, a CPRE Herts Trustee, talks about planning and why we need an open and accountable planning system.  He also gives a little history about CPRE and CPRE Herts, explains how we spend our time and energy and how we celebrate Hertfordshire and maintain a presence in the County. His talk lasts approx. 40 minutes.
