2016 CPRE Hertfordshire walk of the month 11 Berkhamsted

countryside around Berkhamsted countryside around Berkhamsted David Irving

A circular walk of approximately four miles devised for us by our Chairman, David Irving.

The walk begins and ends outside Bridgewater Primary School at the end of Bridle Way, Berkhamsted. Take care orientating yourself through the woods. Although not on the route, it is worth visiting Berkhamsted Castle, home of the Black Prince, either before or afterwards. There are also 85 listed buildings in the town. 173 High Street is the oldest timber-framed building in the United Kingdom, dating from 1277. NB: All walkers do so at their own risk. Suitable footwear and clothing are recoommended.  Map and directions
