We have been delighted to receive a total of 22 nominations for 2016's Rural Living Awards

A diverse range of community- and environment-based projects in Hertfordshire have been nominated, including Heartwood Forest, Waterford Heath Nature Reserve, the Ver Valley Society Action Group, Woodcock Hill Village Green and Redbourn Care Group to name but a few. Five nominatins were received for the new Rural Business in the Community category, ranging from a Master Thatcher to a village store. Individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to rural life have also been put forward to receive an award.

Says Rural Living Awards administrator, Gill Bryant,

"We are very pleased with the number of nominations received and would like to thank everyone who made them for taking the time to do so. The judges' job will be difficult but will result in a fantastic presentation evening, at County Hall in October, where the work done by the dedicated volunteers will be recognised.”

“The judges will be out and about over the summer visiting projects, talking to volunteers and making their decisions – we wish the best of luck to everyone who has been nominated”.
