LDFs/Gypsy and Traveller Sites/Waste Development/East of England Plan
WORTH PROTECTING? We think so The East of England plan proposed 79,600 dwellings for Hertfordshire; an Inspectors' Report recommended 83,200. The final East of England Plan was published on 19 May 2008. With the 83,200 houses included in it, and adding a further 7,000 proposed East of Luton and 10,000 north of Harlow, we calculate that the figure is more like 100,200. The Plan is now undergoing its first review and the indications are that the Government will be expecting an even higher figure. Hertfordshire County Council Waste Development Framework update Jan 2010: We concluded that the HCC Preferred Options paper Mark 1 did not provide the information to enable a proper assessment of the various sites. The Inspector agreed with us. The County Council withdrew its paper for redrafting and has now issued a Waste Site Allocations Consultation Paper 2 - November 2009, and Waste Core Strategy Development Policies Consultation 2 - November 2009 with a consultation deadline of 22 December 2009.
